Out
of several body cleansers, two kinds of cleansers stand out
today. These cleansers claim to purge the body of dangerous
elements which could harm us. The master cleanser or the
Lemonade Diet was developed by Stanley Burroughs in 1941. It
named the Master Cleanser Diet because its developer found out
that this procedure or cleansing diet could alleviate more
than one of his ailments.
The master cleanser diet cleanses and detoxifies the body as
it promotes and stimulates healthy tissue growth. Everyday for
at least ten days, one would need to ingest 6 – 12 cups of
fresh lime or lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper
mixed with water. This regimen could be extended for up to 40
days, depending on the state of health of the individual
undertaking the cleansing.
Along with the ingestion of the lemon juice mix, a herbal
laxative tea will need to be taken twice a day. No other form
of food maybe eaten during the 10 day master cleanser diet.
Many have sworn to have improved health since participating in
the master cleanser diet. The concept of this diet is to rid
the body of accumulated waste which may not have been put out
during bowel movement.
On the other hand, there are many types of herbal or organic
colon cleansers in the market. One popular colon cleanser has
three steps to it. There is the intestinal cleansing, the
parasitical cleansing and the tea which would maintain and
strengthen the colon. It takes several days for an individual
to use this product. This colon cleanser guarantees the
elimination of waste build up in our colon.
Another popular form of colon cleanser is oxygen based. This
colon cleanser is in capsule form. It releases oxygen into the
colon to dissolve the build up of waste material and fecal
matter in the colon to be disposed from the body. Same as the
colon cleanser described above, it regularizes bowel movement.
The dangers of colon cleansers have been brought up. It has
been pointed out that colon cleansing is not necessary since
the colon is in fact the one in charge of expelling waste from
the body.
Another danger of colon cleansers which has been pointed out
is the harm that colon cleansing programs may inflict. Some
colon cleansers disrupt the body’s fluid and electrolyte
balance. This may cause dehydration and salt depletion.
Prolonged or long term repetitive cleansing may lead to
anemia, malnutrition or heart failure.
The best colon cleanser will be decided upon by the individual
person. Different colon cleansers would fit different people.
It is just good to bear in mind not to overdo it.
